An All-Natural Lip Balm with Raspberry Seed Oil for Sun Protection.

This is what started me on my path to natural skincare. I wanted a lip balm that offered an SPF that really was natural & safe. There are many brands of lip balm on the market that claim to be so, but they use ingredients like Titanium Dioxide, or Zinc Oxide for SPF's. Both ingredients are mired in controversy as to their safety, and to whether or not they really are "natural"... That is a lengthy debate that I am not going to get into here, but what I will say regarding those ingredients is: it doesn't matter if they are nanoparticles or not. If you are putting something on your lips, you are ingesting it....period.

So, in my search for a natural SPF, I discovered the wonderful benefits of Raspberry Seed Oil. It is an excellent free radical scavenger and antioxidant, and a rich source of alpha and gamma-tocopherol as well as y-tocopherol, along with carotenoids (Vitamin A). It can be used for the prevention of rashes, eczema and other skin disorders, it also has superior anti-inflammatory properties as compared to other well-known oils such as virgin avocado oil, grapeseed oil, hazelnut oil, and wheat germ oil. Here's the really good part: It acts as a broad-spectrum UV-A and UV-B shield, with a protection factor equal to titanium dioxide and a potential SPF between 28 - 50 at full strength. Now, couple that with Beeswax (SPF 15), Shea Butter (SPF 6-10), and the Coconut Oil (SPF 10).....you've got yourself some pretty good SPF for your lips, and it really is "all-natural".

This balm glides on smoothly, it has just the right feel to it, and it leaves your lips ultra nourished.
